I AM BACK!!!

It's been a few days already since I came back from CAMP BLUE BLOOD organised by Kent Ridge Hall!

YES! The camp has been great!! And I wanted to wait for the camp pics from KR to be up before I commented on the camp, since pictures do speak a thousand words!

Anyways, I am now all dark! We spent one day in the freaking hot sun! But we did have fun! :)

Although this camp is the first ever organised camp (even before matriculating) by KR, it was very well done and commendable! Everyone was rather understanding when it came to change of plans etc. There was very little "hatred" and "upsets". But that could be because it was only a 2day-1night camp so we didn't have time to complain etc.

Let's talk about the room first!
I stayed in D block room 409 with my other BG (Blood Group = OG) members. I found out later during the first day that Angeline was actually my next door room mate! :)

The room is rather small but quite cozy. There is only one light which is so bright! And a ceiling fan that is sufficient to keep the room cool! There wasn't a blanket, just a pillow, and I was glad that I brought my jacket! There's also a big mirror on the outside of the dressing cupboard and I was kinda irritated coz everywhere I walked I just saw myself. Hehe! Oh wells, it's a nice place to live in anyway! It does need a bit of cleaning up that's all...

I arrived KR lobby at 9am exactly on Monday and waited to register. After registering, Kai Yi (who is a Bizadder (Acct)!! Senior! And I found out later that he is the main comm for biz camp. So I would be seeing him soon again!!) brought me to my room! He is a really nice gentleman! When we got to the lift lobby, Lishi (who takes a module of Biz!) took over and showed me around the room. After which, we went to the MPSH (Multi-Purpose Sports Hall) where I was welcomed by my BGL - Kuan Thye! Oh yes! My BG was AKIHITO! The emperor of Japan.

2 girls were already there with Kuan Thye when I got there. They are Xiao Yi Wen and Big Yee Wen. Xiao Yi Wen is going to Biz too! And so, I have already found a Bizadder freshie like me and she is going for the Biz camp too! :)

LiShi~ Who is a big sister to us!

More people came and we introduced ourselves...We played games and learnt cheers! And we were introduced to our buddy group - Gyanendra. So as a BBG (Buddy Blood Group), we are known as Aki-Dra!

We went on to play some disgusting games which we really gave it our best shots! When you go for camps, you have to be prepared to get dirty and no one is let off from this!

We had:
`grass and mud on us.
`papaya, tomato juices on us.
`chinchow, eggs, cucumber, flour on us...
`soap powder on us...

And that was just the first 2 hours of the camp.

We went to wash up and all. Then it was LUNCH!! Hall food and not bad!! It's something I gotta be prepared to eat...

Entertainment time by the cultural groups of KR! And I was wowed by their talents! I am still considering if I am going to join KR Choir. But I have to take part in something of the hall...maybe...
KR Steppers (cheerleaders) were fantastic and seeing them toss the girls in the air made our hearts stop!

We had a very tiring and traumatising game! I shan't say in case I ruin the surprise for those going Biz camp. But it was really scary...and I was glad I had Lishi with me! I freaked out many times!!!

After that was a disgusting meeting with our secret pals! I can't believe how random these secret pals things are! My secret pal is from Victoria Chorale (VS and VJ choirs too)! And so we had a great talk all just on choir stuff!! How random! Haha! And we were made to share ice cream bread...how disgusting! But we didn't care since we couldn't see each other (blindfolded) and who cares about unglam-ness!!

Next was preparation for BLOCK SUPPER! It seems it's something that they have every month or even once every fortnight! Well, preparation was stressful and we were really glad we had BGLs who can cook like RON!!!

We were supposed to make Mashed potatoes. But the ingredients were wrong...so we had a bit of trouble. We ended up with Baked potatoes instead. But Ron and the other girls roasted 2 super delicious chickens!! :)

We went up for a 16 course supper which...well...we didn't eat much since we knew what kind of cooking methods the food went through...everyone ate everyone else's dishes but not their own...Enough said. Hehe! And we were entertained by 2 superb guitarists and we sang along to favourite tunes! I applaud their stage presence and performance!! It got us mesmerized!!

BGLs went for a meeting after that and left us, the freshies alone. We played more games! And it was already 10+pm! The BGLs came back at about 11+pm and joined us in the games. We left them stunned as the games needed lots of concentration and some skills! But when we lost, we just laughed it away!

12 am - WE set off for SUPPER!! It was choices between Cheese prata or Macs at West Coast park. We decided on Prata! Ron sent us in 2 batches by car! We ate supper and asked seniors questions with them persuading us to stay in KR.

We left there at 130am. No... We didn't go back to KR! Instead we went to the Biz school lobby to sit around, chit chat and played heart attack! I was seriously blurred out and felt like dropping dead anytime!! We left and got back to KR at 245am!! By the time I washed up and all, it was 345am! (Wait...I had to wait for the bath cubicles!! There are only 3 cubicles but many people who needed to bath!!)

All in all, I had only 3 hours of sleep!!

Day 2.

Everyone was so darn tired that we couldn't eat breakfast. I pitied the BGLs coz they tried really hard to make us feel more awake!

We set off for SRC where we played a morning of War Games. It was so darn hot! But we played with water bombs so it was much better...We did well in War Games!!

We ended that at 12pm and went for lunch (western food that was superbly nice!!)

It was pool games after that!! Terribly hot!!! No no...not the people...The weather!!! Well, we had lots of fun and a bit of violence! I guess I was rather aggressive...Hehe!!

Each group had a half a bottle of disgusting green juice!!! ONION, CELERY and BITTER GOURD!! It was seriously disgusting! Worse than wasabi!

And at each station, the groups had to do a wager of half or one cup and the loser had to drink both of that. So, at the end, there was lesser than half a bottle in each bottle. Ok...I am not making sense. Anyway, there was a reverse auction whereby the lowest bidder had to drink down the remaining amount of juices! So, my group decided to go for it with 12 points (they started with 20). But a group pushed it down to 11! We decided to go for 10 because we did rather badly for the pool games. We gulped down the freaking juices and NO WAY am I going to touch any green juices for now!!

Thanks to that, we got to go back first and got to use the baths before everyone else came back! We felt the great team spirit knowing that we were going to down the disgusting juice but yet still approached it like some very refreshing fruit juice!

After the bath, we met at the lobby and wrote contact list and notes for each other! And then it was the 2nd session of secret pal! We had to feed each other our favourite snack! Try guessing what's mine!! :) Weirdz-We ate lots of this!!

My secret pal has an expensive facourite snack - Ritter Sport! And it became mine eventually coz we needed that to identify each other! hehe! We had a fun chat again anyways!!

After that, it was group phototaking session and the REVELATION of the secret pal! Ok...it's a nice guy but not to my standard. And people did love declarations for their secret pals! (More of which I think it was a dare...)

We went for BBQ dinner after that! And I was introduced to my secret pal's friend who happens to be from VJ Choir too and is the current president for Victoria Chorale! And he is actually from my BBG whom I have been playing games with for the past 2 days! And I thought he looked familiar...AND!!! HE IS ANGELINE'S SECRET PAL! What a small world... And she introduced me to her secret pal as "Ai4 mei4 qing3 ren3"....Thanks girl...

Well, I found out some stuff that happened so many years ago and I never knew that...But I am happy! :)

We had a wonderful time bbq-ing and watching the picture slideshow. After that it was prize giving session and the prizes they gave were hilarious!!! One ginger...haha!

My BG got first!! And that was because we drank down the disgusting juice! If not we would have been 2nd and not have gotten the Cheese sausages!! But it was the fun that mattered!





We sang the KR family song which was super touching! And then we had a BG heart to heart talk...It was only 2 days of camp but yet, we felt as though we knew each other for ages! And we have became a family! KR spirit is in us already! :)


Thanks lots Akihito! I would always remember you guys even though we are going to different faculties! But we may see each other in KR and maybe even become block mates or neighbours!! KR!!
