The day started out with roars of thunder and flashes of lightning. I felt as though I was in some War of the Worlds movie! It was really scary! However, the rain subsided just as I was going to work. And that was a good thing! Don't like going to work wet and with a soaked pair of jeans!!
Met Wileen at Kembangan MRT Station again! We both would meet whenever we are late! And yah, we were late this morning, taking the 824am train. Monday blues we concluded, where most people would be late for work. And especially when it was a rainy morning! Train rides with her are just ever so interesting! It can't be helped when we even talked about primary school life! Haha! It's been a wonder...Pri to Sec to JC! And now even on the way to WORK!
I got a bit tired at work, really doing data entry work. And I am getting a bit worried...My leave for April almost weren't approved and I don't think May's leave are going to be easily approved either! May's leave is going to be more than April's. OOPS!! I don't know how to make it up...She wouldn't let me work through lunch and wouldn't let me do OT. So, what do I do??! Well, I think it's a good thing that my driving test is in July...Or maybe, I should stop working in May...Haiz...what to do?!
---------------
I went to driving lesson feeling really tired...And so wasn't looking forward to it...
Met Xinying at Eunos MRT Station bus stop. And found out something rather not seen and done before by Mr Yong!! Oh man...he must be really hopping mad that day...
And I met Sing Hui at the driving centre too! See the wonders of learning driving with the school? You meet so many people whom you haven't seen in a long time! I met my Pri school friend - Victoria, Sec school - Marie, JC friends - Shaz, SJ, Shuzhen, Gillian, Sing Hui, Ying Chuan, Samuel from Odac, Ibrizah...And maybe soon my Kindergarten friend - Christine!!
I had a great time at driving lesson. Felt more energized when I started driving! Lesson was great overall! Well, only that I almost got into many small accidents because of the public vehicles! Thank goodness I had a quickwitted instructor!
CI is in Vietnam, so, his good friend G took me for lesson today. We started off the lesson like this....
G took my book, flipped to the attendance page...
G: Wha!! E (CI) bao ka liao ah!! (E took you for all your lessons ah!)
Me: Erm..yah...
G: Then how come he never take you today?
Me: He is around meh?
G: Oh.. i think he on leave.
Me: Yah loh! I thought you would know. He went overseas right?
G: Wha! You know ah?
Me: Erm...don't you?
G: He going for how long? Did he tell you?
Me: He said about 2 over weeks ah...
G: So long ah!
Me: Eh! You are his best friend how come you don't know leh?
G: Sorry lah! I not interested in guys...
Me: Huh?? I don't mean that lah! But you all always together de, I thought he would have told you mah...
.
.
.
.
.
Halfway through the lesson...
G: Eh! You say E going for how long ah?
Me: About 2 over weeks ba...
G: Where did he go?
Me: You really don't know ah?
G: He only tell me he going on leave. Then you know how I reply him? Guan1 wo3 shen3 me4 p*4 shi4? (Who cares?) So, do you think I would have asked him all the details? No lor! That's how guys talk lah!
Me: Oh...but he your good friend leh! Surely you should know a bit here and there mah...If not you all got nothing to talk about!
G: Chey! Who cares about talking to him? Don't need to know lah...
Me: Then you ask me about him?
G: Girls usually can talk more about this kind of thing lah...Guys talk a bit funny...
Me: Sound like girls very kaypoh leh!
G: Aiya..you all ask a lot of questions mah!
Me: >.<
Then I stopped talking to him for a while and manouvered a U-Turn!
G: So, where is he?
Me: Aiya! He went to find a wife lah!
G: Huh?? Vietnam ah?!
Me: Eh! You know you still ask!!
G: I guess one! So it's correct lah? It's time lah!!
Me: It's time? He really go and find wife ah? How old is he? (yup yup...getting more kaypoh...)
G: He ah! A bit younger than me only ba...
Well, I found out that G is 35 years old with a 5 year old daughter already...And that means CI must be about 30+??
But the part about going Vietnam for 2 over weeks and finding a wife at his age sounds a bit logical! Like why would someone go to Vietnam for 2 over weeks?!! Oh no...this is none of my business...
To the main crux of the lesson...
I did 5 test routes today! G play cheat lah! He didn't make me go into the lobby before starting on the next test route unlike CI. He said waste time. Well, I said I could do with some practice on how to enter and exit the driving school! He said ok! But didn't remember I think...Anyways, I think I am getting over the phobia of entering and exiting the driving school.
Each test route seemed difficult with many areas becoming a phobia spot for me! The changing lanes to the right at Eunos there are still freaking me out! And the filter lanes! I didn't do circuit today...but it's alright! I would rather let CI take me for circuit! Later G mess everything up for me again..Haiz...
Would have gotten into many minor "accidents" if not for G...Like motorcyclists suddenly coming from my left! And that's a split second after I checked my left blindspot! And cars zooming in and out of lanes, suddenly dangerously overtaking and cutting into my lane just as I was going to turn!
And many cars horned me!! That was at the traffic lights when the green arrow just came on. I saw the light already and was going to move off. Manual cars take a longer time to start up can! And these people are like experienced drivers! Can't they see the words on the boot "Please give ma a chance to learn?". Horn for what?! Like you all weren't learner drivers too! Be patient mah!! Really pissed with these people! Oh wells, G and I got our "revenge" when there were cars like that at the traffic light and G happily horned them! G HORNED THEM! Not me!! I told him it was very mean! But did he care? No! Coz he said these people need to be horned at! But these cars would think it was me who horned!!
Back in the circuit, we went for a few rounds. And was almost tailgating this car...Probably is a new learner, coz the car kept stalling and the hazard light was on. Well, the circuit was too packed to overtake. So, while I was following this car, I realised that not all cars had the "please give me a chance to learn" stickers! Instead, it had the CDC's telephone no.! They should put the other sticker instead of advertising the school!
Anyways, looking at the car in front of me that kept stalling reminds me of myself 3 months ago! I kept stalling, dragging the gear, moving at really a slow speed of 20km/h, doing wide turnings, not travelling in the centre of the lane...I have to agree that practice does make perfect. And I am really amazed at how much has been learnt from being so scared of moving an inch to daring to drive at 70km/h now and still think its very slow!
When the lesson ended, I went to check the back of my car and saw that it had the sticker! Well, people may have drove so close to me that they didn't see the sticker and became impatient with a learner driver..I have the right of way and I don't think I ought to be displeased with the impatient drivers! Humph!!
